Alternativni viri energije in njihova uporaba v hortikulturi
(mednarodna delavnica Grundtvig )
Z udeleženci delavnice smo si ogledali primere dobrih praks: proizvodnjo orhidej Ocean Orhids in Organica bioplinarno ter pridelavo paradižnikov v Dobrovniku, Arboretum Volčji Potok, Vrtnariji in drevesnici Eurogarden center in Breskvar v Podsmreki, proizvodnjo kaktusov v Seči in vinsko klet Koreniko Moškon ter obiskali Ljubljano, cerkev Jožeta Plečnika v Bogojini, Moravske Toplice, Bled in edinstveno Postojnsko jamo.
Udeleženci so bili ves teden vključeni v različne aktivnosti.
Vsi imamo zelo radi naravo in želimo skrbeti zanjo.
Zelo me zanima vrtnarjenje in obiski vrtnarij ter predstavitve so bile zelo dobre. Lastniki le teh verjamejo v prihodnost.
Zelo so mi všeč učitelji in ostalo osebje v Naklem.
Res sem se zaljubila v Slovenijo.
Françoise Gary – Francija
Všeč mi je:
- Petrov nasmeh in Martinin smeh – prijaznost obeh organizatorjev in vseh udeležencev delavnice
-Dobro razpoloženje vseh
-Dobra pripravljenost predavateljev (še posebej predavanje o fotovoltaiki)
-privlačnost Slovenije
Kdaj vas spet lahko obiščem?
Jean-Marc Gary – Francija
Izjemno sem navdušen nad organizatorji, organizacijo in predavatelji. Predavatelji so bili zelo zanimivi in so prihodnost države.
Sotos Voskarides - Ciper
Program, navodila in smernice podana še pred mojim prihodom so me prepričala da bo delavnica in bivanje v vaši državi (obiskal sem jo prvič) lepo in enkratno doživetje.
Obiskali smo veliko zanimivih krajev: Arboretum Voljčji Potok, Vrtnariji in drevesnici Eurogarden center in Breskvar (Podsmreka), pridelavo orhidej (Ocean Orhids) in bioplinarno Gjerkeš, proizvodnjo kaktusov v Seči, zasebno podjetje – vinsko klet Korenika Moškon (ki ga vodi čudovita družina), kjer smo imeli ob večerji sklepni zaključek in evalvacijo.
Zelo smo bili veseli in srečni z organizacijo večerje s petjem in plesom (vsi udeleženci so peli in plesali) v Hotelu Marinšek.
Srečal sem zelo prijazne ljudi in videl čudovito deželo.
Slovenijo sem že obiskala pred petimi leti, ampak šele sedaj sem spoznala njene ljudi in njihovo prijaznost.
Cveta Smrekar – Slovenija
Uživali smo v druženju in dobri hrani in vsi s katerimi smo prišli v stik so dobro predstavili našo deželo in vizijo uspešnih.
Piero Frangi – Italija

Alternative sources of energy and their use in horticulture
Biotechnical Centre Naklo, Strahinj 99, 4202 Naklo, Slovenia
7th – 11th of May 2012
Workshop Alternative energy sources and their use in horticulture was held for five days in May 2012. Included were 11 foreign participants from 7 countries: Italy, Norway, Lithuania, Cyprus, Tenerife, Spain, France, Great Britain - Scotland and 2 participants from Slovenia. The target group were older adults (50 +), garden and ornamental plant lovers interested in alternative energy sources.
We develop and implement a educational program that includes the interesting topics from the field of alternative energy sources related in plant production. Theory strongly intertwined with practical demonstrations and tours of the field, and visits to the interesting places in Slovenia. All together we connected in terms of culture, cuisine and learning about our country and its people.
We visited many interesting places: Voljčji Potok Arboretum, plant nurseries and nursery centers Eurogarden and Breskvar (Podsmreka), orchids production (Ocean Orhids) and Gjerkeš biogas, the production of cacti in Seča, a private company - wine cellar Korenika Moškon where we had dinner and final conclusion and evaluation of the workshop.
We visited also Ljubljana (the capistal), Church of Joze Plecnik in Bogojina, Moravske Toplice spa, Bled and unique Postojnska cave.
Participants were included in various activities throughout the whole week. They developed a friendly relationship and dialogue. There was a wide exchange of experience, which was very interesting because the participants came from different European countries with different laws in this area, climatic characteristics and location of countries and different levels of awareness and the possibilities of using this type of energy.
Extreme excitement and satisfaction of participants during and at the end of the workshop confirm that the BC team Naklo well planned, organized and led the whole process of the workshop.
Participants coments on workshop:
Gunvor Havås – Norway
We all love our nature and want to take care of it. I have had wonderful time in Slovenia. I have seen a beautiful country and met friendly people.
The workshop has been very interesting. I am very interesting in gardening. And visits in greenhouses and nurseries and the guided tours of owners who believe in the future were very good.
Also I like very good teachers and all other people in Naklo.
I really fell in love with Slovenia.
Françoise Gary – France
I like:
-The smile of Peter and the laugh of Martina - the kindness of both organizers and of all the participants of workshop
-The good mood of everybody
-The quality of the trainers (particularly lecture on photovoltaic)
-The charm of the Slovenia
When can I come again?
Jean-Marc Gary – France
The enthusiasm of the crew and organization and trainers was exceptional. We feel that this small country wants to take its place in the future of European renewable energy and activities.
The trainers of each part very interesting and they are the future of the country.
Sotos Voskarides - Cyprus
The more the time passes the more I realize how important and wonderful was my stay in your country for the workshop on “Alternative sources of energy and their use in horticulture”.
Your professionalism and also the high level of preparation of the whole event were obvious from the very first moment when I decided to apply for participation.
The agenda, the updates and the instructions and guidance weeks before my arrival made me feel sure that the workshop as well as the stay in your country (which I was about to visit for the first time) would be fine and a unique experience.
And indeed, the arrangements for receiving me (and other participants) from Ljubliana airport and also driving us by taxi to the nice and clean Hotel Marinsek in Naklo (with its very friendly staff) made me feel like home from the very first moments.
The reception in Biotehniski Center Naklo on Monday morning by you and your colleagues was excellent. After you gave to all of us participants the chance to get together and know each other we gave, in a very well prepared and equipped classroom, a brief Power Point presentation each, on the use of alternative energy sources in our countries and we had a brief debate on the subject.
The very interesting lectures by selected experts in the same premises which took place throughout the week, the guided tour in biotechnical centre Naklo and the very well organized visits and tours in so many places in beautiful Slovenia were absolutely fantastic.
Visiting so many interesting places like the main horticultural amenity in Slovenia, Volčji Potok Arboretum, Eurogarden centre at Dobrova and Breskvar (Podsmreka), the plant production facility at Dobrovnik (Ocean Orhids) and the nearby biogas production facility Gjerkeš, the cactus production facility at Seča and, the private company Korenika Moškon (run by a wonderful family) where we had the conclusions and evaluation at dinner, gave to all participants a very good picture on what is being done in your country with regards to the high level applications of Alternative sources of energy in horticulture.
Also the guided tours in Ljubliana, the Jože Plečnik's church at Bogojna and Moravske Toplice, in Bled (my God, what an angelic place), the unique and astonishing Postojnska cave made us all understand how lucky you are living in such a country.
For a whole week you and all your colleagues, as well as all participants lived as one family and had a unique high level and unforgettable experience. It was so nice to meet so many exceptional people coming from many different countries with various backgrounds and cultures.
It was obvious and I could feel it continuously that you all working as a very strong team, gave so much effort before and during the workshop so that your high objectives could be reached. I can say that these objectives were achieved by more than 200%.
The dinners as well as the dancing and singing arrangements (songs and dances from all participants countries) organized in the nice environment of Hotel Marinsek gave to all participants so much happiness and joy.
As well as the organized the collection of the hundreds of photographs and videos and distribution to all participants which it is unique.
THANK YOU so much for being so professional, so human and so wonderful.
I hope that we will have the chance to meet next in Cyprus and also in the future to meet again in Slovenia with which (I admit it once more) I felled in love!!!
John Kåre Mæland – Norway
It vas very interesting, nice and marvelous.
I had wonderful week in Slovenia. We saw a beautiful country with very nice people.
We learned a lot and share experiences with others and because of that the workshop was very good.
This is a good way to have the best relationship between countries.
Thank you all.
Marina Berlot – Slovenia
I am skeptic on the use of alternative energy economy on earth, because my logic is that the conversion of one energy into another energy requires some energy before we get new energy, which is now called modern alternative energy. As a layman in the field of energy science I think that I cannot get more than I give, which applies to all areas, including in relations between people. People can survive only if they use the logic of natural laws. I believe in the transmission of human emotional energy in plants, as well as considering the impact of the moon on plant growth.
Colin Norton – Great Britan, Scotland
The workshop far exceeded my expectations both culturally and in workshop content.
Slovenia is a perfect location and BC Naklo is especially well equipped to host workshop of this nature. The staff at BC Naklo have an energy and enthusiasm which is infectious and is far superior to many better known institutions.
Isabel García Robaina – Spain, Tenerife
This have been the perfect project for me. My expectations were lower that which I found. I have enjoyed a wonderful days sharing experiences with others participants. I firmly believe that we are building a European nation, exchanging experiences and feelings with partners from different countries.
I have visited Slovenia five years ago, but it is now when I really know its people and how nice they are.
Cveta Smrekar – Slovenia
We are from various of European countries and speek defferent languages but we have the same interest: loving plants and nature. We learn from the life for the life, we all are teachers and we all are learners and differences make us richer.
Thank you for good organization and implementation of the workshop in very pleasant and nice environment. We were together for whole week exchanging experience from all other countries and this could have positive impact of our lives. We enjoy good food and company.
All who presented their work or organizations presented Slovenia very well and show us that there is the future.
Piero Frangi – Italy
Probably it would be interesting to share the experience of use of alternative sources of energy in horticulture also with all other countries that were not been at the workshop. Maybe much more professional experience would be better to include in the content of the workshop.
